Provider Spotlight - Dr. Alvin DeBre

In July, 2006 the ADA Member Advantage Newflash spotlighted the Practice of Dr. Alvin DeBre of Los Angeles, California.  As a practicing dentist for 60 years in a solo practice, Dr. DeBre is an enthusiastic user of several ADA Member Advantage services, and namely Emdeon's electronic insurance claim programs since 1995.

Dr. Alvin DeBre from Los Angeles, California shares his experience with electronic claims and how it has changed the way he processes insurance claims.

"I recommend electronic claims to everyone who asks about it. It's one of the best programs ever devised. It saves time in the office. My receptionist, she’s the only one handling claims, so this does miracles for her because it doesn’t take too much time. It's very simple, once you put the patient in the computer, you hit a couple of buttons and then you have your claim file. Doing it manually is so time consuming: writing up the form, putting it in the envelope, put a stamp on it, and then wait six weeks for an answer. Now I have an answer within ten days or at the latest two weeks.

Emdeon has been extremely cooperative. I have had problems with the computer (like everyone) and their technical support has been really helpful. If it's not in the dental program then they find out quickly, then we start working with the basic software program. It's terrific. I always tell people that it is one of the best things they can do for the office. You've made a good choice to endorse Emdeon!"
